From 1st January 1997 regulations have required landlords to ensure electrical equipment is safe and, in particular, does not carry a risk of death or injury to persons or damage to property. All wiring and electrical appliances should be inspected by an ELECSA, NICEIC, ECA or IEE approved contractor. Electrical Safety Inspection Reports are now a prerequisite.
